An editorial portfolio for stories worth telling
Violet Dispatch is a premium Astro theme for creative professionals who think in stories, not just project grids. The homepage combines a hero, featured story, marquee, content grid, parallax break, services, about preview, and final CTA — all tuned for editorial pacing rather than startup conversion formulas.
Playfair Display headlines and Inter body copy give the site a magazine-quality typographic voice. A violet-toned palette reinforces the editorial positioning.
What is included
Violet Dispatch includes home, projects index and detail, magazine index and detail, about, contact, styleguide, legal, privacy, RSS, robots.txt, and a custom 404 page.
Projects are MDX files in src/content/projects/. Magazine posts live in src/content/posts/. Site metadata, navigation, and social links are in src/data/site.ts, navigation.ts, and socials.ts.
Parallax storytelling and optimized media
ParallaxImage and OptimizedPicture components handle editorial photography with care. Parallax breaks on the homepage create rhythm between content sections. The styleguide route documents the full design inventory for buyers who rebrand after purchase.
Built on a static-first Astro stack
Violet Dispatch is built with Astro 6.4, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS v4, MDX, Sharp, Fontsource fonts, @tailwindcss/typography for long-form articles, sitemap, and RSS. There is no required CMS, database, or backend.
Node >= 22.12.0 is recommended.
Customization workflow
Update branding in src/data/site.ts. Replace demo projects and magazine posts with real work and articles. Swap images through the optimized media components. Adjust navigation and social links in the data layer before publishing.
