An AI teammate is an agent that takes a task in Slack or Teams and tries to finish it with the tools you connect. For a one-person stack it is useful on repetitive internal work. It is a poor first purchase if you still do not have a brief, a review step, or a page you want to rank.

The map of jobs — research, support chat, reviewed content, then agents — is the AI stack for Astro and Shopify. Partner options sit on noel.marketing/stack.

Key takeaways

  • Give the teammate inbox triage, meeting follow-ups, and “pull this into a note.” Do not give it the publish button.
  • Research still starts with a crawl, not with an agent guessing a competitor page. See Firecrawl for SEO research.
  • Buyer questions on the site stay in Chatbase or Shopify chat, with the same facts in HTML.
  • Shopify articles that should point at products go through the AI Blog Generator review queue.
  • One labeled partner link in the article, and the stack for the rest.

Jobs that fit

Inbox and follow-ups. Sorting mail and turning a thread into a checklist is the kind of work that disappears when you are also shipping a theme or an app. A teammate can draft the reply. You still send it.

Status across tools. “What is blocked in Linear, and what did the call decide?” is a lookup, not a ranking page. That is a fair agent job.

A first outline from notes you already wrote. If the brief exists, an agent can turn your bullets into headings. The AI SEO content workflow still owns intent, facts, and internal links before anything is public.

Jobs that do not

Publishing a blog post, changing a product price, or answering a shipping policy the agent has not read on a canonical URL. Those fail quietly: the draft sounds finished, the claim is wrong, and the page never links to the product you actually sell.

Customer-facing chat is a different product. A Slack teammate does not replace a widget trained on your help center, and it should not be the only place the answer exists.

How to choose a partner

Viktor (affiliate) is the option aimed at Slack or Teams: connect tools and ship the task, not only a plan. I do not run it day to day. Treat the first week as a trial on three recurring tasks you can check by hand.

If you want named roles — inbox, social, leads — instead of one general agent, Marblism (affiliate) is the neighboring partner. Appy (affiliate) is the variant with a coordinator agent over several specialists. Compare them on the stack before you add a second subscription. None of them is a substitute for Astro themes when the job is the marketing site.

A small operating rule

Write the task as if you were handing it to a contractor: input, done-when, and what must not be sent or published. If you cannot write that in five lines, the agent will invent the rest.

When the output is a public page, move it into the human gate: research workflow, then content workflow, then your product URL — for Shopify blogs, the AI Blog Generator.

Frequently asked questions

What is an AI teammate?

A named agent in Slack, Teams, or a dedicated workspace that can use your tools and return finished work. It is not the same as a support chat widget on a website.

Should it publish blog posts?

No. It can collect notes or draft a section. Publishing still needs a person to check facts, search intent, and internal links.

How is this different from Firecrawl or Chatbase?

Firecrawl fetches public pages into a brief. Chatbase answers buyers from those public pages. A teammate is for internal tasks across tools, not for the page Google should rank.

What should I buy first?

The job you already repeat. If that is research, start with a crawl step. If it is buyer questions, start with support chat. Add a teammate after the brief and the approval step exist.

Do you use these agents yourself?

No. They are partner options on the stack page. Firecrawl and Buffer are the tools I use. Each affiliate link is labeled.

Where do my own products fit?

Shopify blog drafts that should link products belong in the AI Blog Generator review queue. The site itself still lives on an Astro theme. The teammate does not replace either URL.
